Our Garden Coordinator Sam Le Grand and her hardworking volunteer gardeners have produced the finest crop of fresh food we have ever seen at the Food Bank.
We’ve also been fortunate to have community groups donating to us through Grow a Row (Burlington Together) and Grow to Give (Burlington Green).
If you have freshly grown produce to donate, please follow these tips for harvesting and delivering to the Burlington Food Bank for distribution:
Bunchberry Connections urban farm has produced over 1,000 lbs of fresh and health food to help feed our neighbours. They are in need of volunteers to help grow and harvest. If you would like to get involved let us know.

Help make a long-term impact on the Burlington Food Bank and our community. If you’re considering donating a Major Gift to the Burlington Food Bank, contact our Treasurer, Paul Farquharson, to set up a visit to the Burlington Food Bank to see our operations in person.
During your visit we would love to discuss how you can help make a long-term impact on the Burlington Food Bank and the community.
Your Major Gift could help us with the following large needs:
You can direct your United Way donations to go directly to The Burlington Food Bank. Burlington Food Bank is not a funded agency of the United Way. Increasingly many United Way donors are designating their annual, monthly or payroll deducted donation to help feed the poor in our city.
Just fill in Burlington Food Bank and our registered charity number 88963-8946-RR0001 on the United Way form and they will forward us your donation less a small processing fee.
Consider donating your shares directly to the Burlington Food Bank. These gifts are easy to transfer, and they eliminate capital gains tax.
To donate these types of gifts, please fill out the Donation of Securities Form. Please ensure the form is signed by the donor and returned to the Burlington Food Bank. Please note, this form will be used to issue the donor a tax receipt.
Eligible gifts include: bonds, futures, publicly traded stocks, shares acquired through employee stock options, units in mutual trust funds, and warrants.
Including the Burlington Food Bank as a beneficiary in your will allows you to make a larger gift than you might have thought possible. Also a bequest provides charitable tax credits for your estate.
For help including the Burlington Food Bank in your will, please download both our Important Information for Your Lawyer, and Sample Wording documents.
The Burlington Food Bank can be the beneficiary of a life insurance policy with the benefits of that policy going directly to charity upon death. This arrangement ensures that the proceeds do not pass through your estate, thereby circumventing probate. This entitles your estate to the tax benefit.
